FAQs:

Q: How long will the eclipse last?

A: The partial eclipse will begin at 2:04 PM and the partial eclipse will end at 4:32 PM

Q: When was the last total solar eclipse in Buffalo?

A: January 24, 1925

Q: How is this eclipse different from the eclipse we experienced in 2017?

A: This year’s eclipse will last longer and provide total darkness as the moon is much closer to earth than it was in 2017, therefore it’s shadow will be much larger.

Q: Will Buffalo have another total solar eclipse in my lifetime?

A: The next solar eclipse will take place in 2044, however the viewability won’t be as widespread in the United States. Researchers anticipate the path of totality will only touch three states; Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
