What is a brewery without a unique experience? Well, Rusty Nickel Brewing is giving you something to talk about!  And we’re continuing to write our brewery into the mixology record books as we expand our list of award winning Bloody Mary’s.

We are proud to announce that our newest Bloody Mary, Let’s Taco Bout Mary, won first place in not one, but two categories at this year’s Buffalo Bloody Mary Fest.  

Let’s Taco Bout Mary is a savory chipotle lime Bloody Mary that balances heat and flavor. We spiked this one of a kind bloody with Rusty Nickel’s popular Hometown Heroes IPA in addition to Tommy Rotter Vodka #LocalSpirits. We never miss a chance to showcase our beer and this IPA packed with tropical hops complimented the chipotle lime seasoning perfectly. The uniqueness and flavor of Let’s Taco Bout Mary was a crowd pleaser and earned 1st place for most creative Bloody Mary.

Garnishes? Lets not forget about garnishes, we live for garnishes! This taco-inspired recipe, is garnished like a super stuffed taco with all the fixins; a black olive, Wisconsin Sharp cheddar cheese cube, gherkin dill pickle and celery stick run the gamut of traditional toppings.  We took it well beyond tradition and added a custom chipotle lime snack stick specially made by GetLinked for this bloody and a freshly fried Ru’s banana pepper pierogi. It’s a meal packed full of complimentary flavors! This two-handed garnish earned Let’s Taco Bout Mary 1st place in the Best Garnish category.

This is Rusty Nickel’s second year competing in Step Out Buffalo’s Bloody Mary Fest. Last year’s entry, Mary Mango Hoptrot, was a mango habanero bloody made with Ms Brown’s London Porter and garnished with pepperoncini, pimento stuffed queen olive, gherkin dill pickle, celery, pepperoni, sharp cedar cheese, a frozen mango cube and candied bacon slice. This wildly popular bloody mary earned Mary Mango Hoptrot three medals; 2nd place in Most Creative, 3rd place in Best Garnish and 3rd place in Best Bloody.

You can enjoy both of these award-winning Bloody Marys in our tasting room complete with award-winning garnish, and prepared with Lockhouse Vodka. For any Bloody Mary purists, we have the Rusty Nickel Original Bloody Mary that is a customer favorite and every bit as delicious as our competition bloodys.
